Arabs Got Talent is an Arabic television talent show broadcasted by MBC4 in the Arab world on Saturday night. The show features contestants with a variety of talents, such as singing, break-dancing, comedians, magicians and rapping.
The judges are Arabic celebrities, popular in the Middle East. They currently are: Lebanese singer Najwa Karam, the dean of the journalism school at the American University in Dubai Ali Jaber, and famous Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmi.
The show’s venue is in Lebanon and it’s hosted by Saudi rapper/musician Qusai and Lebanese TV presenter Raya Abirached.
After non-televised auditions in the capitals of participating Arab country the contestants proceed to perform in front of the celebrity judges. It is by the judges votes, that they enter the next round.
The semi-finals and final are broadcast live. In the semi-final, the winners are chosen by the viewers voting (by means of texting), though only the most-voted-for contestant proceeds to the final, the second and third placed will proceed via a vote by the judges.
In the final, twelve contestants remain and the winner is chosen by the votes of the Arabic tv audience. The grand prize is 500,000 Saudi Riyals and a brand new Chrysler 300 as well as a contract with MBC.
Arabs Got Talent – Season 1
The first season of Arabs Got Talent was aired early 2011. The winner was Egyptian comedian Amr Katamesh:
Arabs Got Talent – Season 2
The show finished its second season on June 29, 2012. It was won by Saudi dance formation Khawater Al-Zalam
Arabs Got Talent – Season 3
The third season started airing September 2014 and was won by Sima Group, a dance formation from Syria.
Arabs Got Talent – Season 4
Moroccan dancer Saa`h Entertainer won the fourth season of the Arab talent show. Season 4 began airing on December 2015.
Arabs Got Talent – Season 5
The fifth season began airing on March 11, 2017.
