Lebanese singer and actor Wadih El Safi died at the age of 92 on Friday evening after being taken to the hospital due to illness.
“The artist was present at the home of his son Tony in Beirut and was immediately taken to hospital after he fell ill at 7.30 p.m. He died at the hospital,” a statement from his agency said.
The agency added that his funeral will be held Monday afternoon at St. George’s Cathedral in downtown Beirut.
Wadih is known for his outstanding works of art. He is a singer, a composer and considered one of the musical giants in Lebanon and the Arab world.
