Pauline Koning releases French-Arabic single “Le Don de Dieu”

Dutch artist and belly dancer Pauline Koning has released her new French-Arabic single “Le Don de Dieu” (God’s Gift). The release comes with a music video filmed on location in the Sahara Desert in Tunisia.

About the song

The single is a melancholic track that moves between French and Arabic. Its central line “Je veux une vie, je veux vivre, je meurs d’envie de faire le don de Dieu” loosely translates to: I want a life, I want to live, I’m dying to give God’s gift. The song was composed by Luca Carrubba.

Shot in the Sahara

The music video was directed by Hamdi Ben Ahmed and Chamseddine Ben Ahmed, an award-winning Tunisian filmmaking duo. The Sahara setting gives the visual a raw, open quality that fits the weight of the track.

Who is Pauline Koning?

Pauline has no French or Arabic roots. That hasn’t stopped her from building a track record in Arabic-influenced music. She previously appeared on Holland’s Got Talent and on Egyptian prime-time television. “Le Don de Dieu” continues in the same direction as her earlier Arabic single “Amwaj” (Waves), which was also filmed in Tunisia.
