Reggaeton meets Arab vibes
“Yama” blends reggaeton with traditional Iraqi “shoubi” music, showing off DYSTINCT’s unique pan-Arabic sound. The lyrics are in Levantine Arabic and mix romantic lines like “I don’t want anyone but you” with luxury references to Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and more. The catchy “Mama, mama, mama” hook makes it perfect for social media, helping it trend fast on TikTok and Instagram.
The single dropped during DYSTINCT’s BABABA World Tour, with shows across Europe, including a stops in London, Cologne and Copenhagen. The music video quickly trended on YouTube in multiple countries, and shortly after its release, “Yama” hit 1 million Spotify streams. That number has now grown to nearly 4 million, making it one of DYSTINCT’s most streamed tracks to date.
